Site Plan
Located at the outskirt of city in the residential colony on 100’x100’ plot, having approach road on north side. A main gate provided in front of garage and a separate pedestrian entrance provided in front of main door, servant room is provided at the back side of plot, having direct access from utility. Front yard landscape garden is provided to enhance the grandness of house. A separate cubes highlights the main entrance .two water bodies are provided on both side of entrance to make it interesting.
Planning
Inward looking plan and visual connectivity of both floors are the main consideration of planning. To avoid the direct heat from Westside covered seating, toilets, open cutouts are placed on that side. For maximum light and ventilation open to sky courtyard introduced at the centre of the house. Upper floor gathering and interacting spaces are placed at the height of 8 feet from ground floor for better visual connectivity and family interaction. Spaces seem to be woven into each other because of visual connectively between them making them look expansive.
Basic plan is divided into three vertical girds in which central grid is kept as overlooking space with central courtyard as attraction of house. First and second grid occupies public and semi public spaces, while last grid is occupied with private spaces. wooden batten partition, hanging from top to bottom, provides an interesting background
Elevation
It is a composition of boxes, vertical and horizontal planes painted in monochrome earthy tone. In a contrast to break the monotony, entrance cube is highlighted with yellow tone, which makes the composition more interesting. Some small elements like MS flap pergolas, liner openings and floating slab make balanced composition of boxes.
