Ground Floor: A Play of Volumes & Privacy
The entry sequence is marked by a landscaped garden with a lawn and plantation, setting a serene tone. Upon entering, an entrance lobby with a partition subtly screens the living room, ensuring privacy while maintaining visual permeability. A courtyard, the heart of the residence, introduces a double-height volume that enhances light and ventilation, acting as a spatial divider between the living room and bedroom wing. The bedroom, with an attached toilet and dressing, is accessed via a passage that frames the courtyard.
A capsule lift, positioned within the courtyard, provides vertical connectivity, complementing the staircase with plantation below. Opposite the staircase, a textured wall further accentuates the spatial composition, interacting with the courtyard’s waterbody and lush greenery to establish a harmonious indoor-outdoor relationship. A terracotta brick jali wall filters natural light, casting intricate patterns throughout the day.
First Floor: Overlooking & Interweaving Spaces
Ascending to the upper level, the courtyard remains the focal point, with a peripheral passage linking three bedrooms with en-suite dressing and toilets. The family area, an intimate space for gatherings, connects to an open terrace balcony, fostering an extension of indoor living to the exterior. The front balcony, shared by the family area and a bedroom, is partially enclosed, offering a blend of privacy and openness.
Elevation: A Dialogue of Light & Materiality
The facade of Vrundavan is a composition of geometric abstraction, where jali screens and fabrication patterns create an interplay of light and shadow. The front balcony’s jali elements craft dynamic patterns throughout the day, enhancing the tactile experience of the space. Half of the balcony is enclosed with a composite panel fabrication, ensuring a layered visual effect. A refined palette of textured surfaces, terracotta brick patterns, and tile cladding lends depth and warmth, grounding the architecture in both tradition and modernity.
Architectural Ethos: Merging Light, Nature & Functionality
Through its courtyard-centric planning, volumetric fluidity, and material interplay, Vrundavan redefines contemporary living. It is a residence where spatial transparency, nature, and built form coalesce, offering an experience that is both intimate and expansive, crafted with sensitivity towards climate, light, and human connection.
